Pegs and accessories
Two pegs do everything
There are no knots in the Texsolv system. Every connection is a peg through a loop in the cord: the straight peg joins cord to cord, the anchor peg fastens the cord to the loom. Both are nylon, lock by friction and need no tools.

Straight peg
This productGoes through two loops to join cord to cord, or through one loop and around a bar. Push it in and the friction holds it; pull it out and the cord is free. Nothing to tie, nothing to untie.
This is the peg you adjust with. The loops on the cord sit 12 mm (½") apart, so moving the peg one loop makes the cord exactly 12 mm longer or shorter. Count the loops on one side of the loom, repeat on the other, and the shafts hang level without a ruler.
Used for: the adjustable end of a tie-up, from shafts to lamms and from lamms to treadles (connections F and H in the folder), under the treadles, on harness holders and in the doubled cords on a beam.
In five colours. Give each shaft its own colour and you see at a glance which cords belong together in a countermarch tie-up.

Anchor peg
This productHas a head. It goes through a loop in the cord and into a hole drilled in the loom, so the cord hangs straight from the wood: no screw eye, no hook, no knot around the bar.
Drill a 5.5 mm (7/32") hole where the cord should sit, push the peg through the loop and into the hole. It locks by friction and comes out with a pull, so a cord can be taken off and put back in seconds.
Used for: wherever a cord meets the loom itself: shaft bars, lamms and treadles (connection G in the folder), beam cords, and in our ready-cut tie-up sets.
A cord that is often taken off, a beam cord for example, gets its hole marked with a felt-tip pen. It then goes back to exactly the same place and the same length every time.

Plastic bushing
This productSome looms have holes that are too large for the anchor peg: 8 mm (5/16") instead of 5.5 mm. The bushing fills the hole, and the anchor peg then fits as usual.
Put the bushing in the hole, push the anchor peg through the loop and into the bushing. It also serves as a spare part when a bushing has gone missing.

From the folder: adjustable connections
Connections F and H are made with a straight peg, G with an anchor peg. Lengthen or shorten by moving the peg one loop: every shed and every treadle is set in 12 mm steps.
The folder shows every connection, A to J, and complete tie-ups for counterbalance and countermarch looms. It comes with the cord and is on texsolv.se as web pages.
Pegs, accessories and every connection drawn, from the folder.
