Jane Bynum I am replacing the cords on a very old Ulla Cyrus loom and it was convenient to be able to buy a large amount of treadle cord in a box.
The Texsolv polyester cord is a continuous string of small, evenly spaced loops that can be threaded through or around different parts of the loom. The loop system makes adjustments quick and secure, using either straight pegs or anchor pegs depending on your loom setup and personal preference.
This looped cord system is designed for flexibility and precision in tie-ups, treadle connections, shafts, counterweights, warp beams, and other critical loom functions.
The most commonly used size. Thin, flexible, and exceptionally strong, with a breaking strength of 80 kg. Ideal for standard loom applications such as tie-ups, shaft connections, and lamms.
A slightly finer version of the standard cord, made with three threads for a slimmer profile. Perfect for lightweight looms, smaller tie-ups, or situations where minimal bulk is preferred.
Thicker and stronger, suitable for heavier loads such as counterweight rollers or warp beam aprons. Provides extra durability and stability where additional support is required.
A special size used on certain looms, primarily from AKS Snickerier, including the Ulla Cyrus loom. This cord is designed to match the unique requirements of these specific loom models and ensures proper fit and function where standard sizes do not apply.
All Texsolv cords are made from high-quality, low-stretch polyester, ensuring long-lasting performance and consistent tension throughout weaving.
See our document on how to use the tie-up cord (U-cord).
